abstract

  • A successful technique is described which incorporates ferrocolloid into blood platelets. The results show good magnetisation and preservation of normal platelet function as measured by platelet aggregation. Platelet morphology is normal and suggests the ferrocolloid is introduced through the canalicular system rather than by surface receptors. The technique may be applicable to in vivo studies such as tissue localisation or targeting or investigation of hemostasis.
