Dr. Adigweme enjoys working with patients of all ages to improve their joint function and restore their quality of life. Following medical school, Dr. Adigweme remained in Florida and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Orlando Health. During residency, he developed an interest in hip and knee replacement surgery. This interest led Dr. Adigweme to pursue additional fellowship training in hip and knee adult reconstruction at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Prior to joining Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, Dr. Adigweme practiced at Orlando Orthopaedic Center. Dr. Adigweme was simultaneously on faculty with Orlando Health Orthopaedic residency program, teaching the residents. He specialized in joint replacements, complex revision joint replacements, and orthopedic trauma. Dr. Adigweme also remains volunteer faculty at UCF College of Medicine as an assistant professor. He is an active member of many professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and Florida Orthopaedic Society. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters on joint replacement surgery. Dr. Adigweme’s main research interests include periprosthetic joint infections, partial knee replacements, and health equity in orthopaedics. He remains active in research and is currently a reviewer for the Journal of Arthroplasty and Bone and Joint Journal. Dr. Adigweme has a sister and a twin brother, both are physicians also. His parents live in Jacksonville. He enjoys working out, golfing, watching the Jacksonville Jaguars, traveling, and spending time with his family. The joint replacement surgeons at Rothman Orthopaedics collectively perform over 17,000 hip and knee procedures each year in both an inpatient and outpatient capacity.
