- Dennis Smith, MD, is a board-certified bariatric surgeon who specializes in laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery to treat obesity and metabolic-related health issues. Dr. Smith received his medical degree from UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, NJ, and completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Alabama Hospital. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Aside from serving as a committee member, Dr. Smith is also an active member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, where he continues to help train other surgeons and medical professionals.
