Overview
overview
- Dr. Catherine Hwang is board-certified in radiation oncology. She specifically focuses on treating breast cancer and has been instrumental in implementing techniques at AdventHealth Cancer Institute that minimize cardiac toxicity from breast radiation. She works closely with medical oncologists and surgical oncologists to ensure that her patients receive their care in a coordinated and timely fashion. She also strives to help her patients understand their disease and minimize the anxiety associated with their treatments. Dr. Hwang received her medical degree from the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago. She also completed her residency training in radiation oncology at Northwestern University, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. She then joined the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where she served as Medical Director of Radiation Oncology for United Hospital Systems at the St. Catherine’s Medical Center Campus. She achieved the rank of Associate Professor in Clinical Radiation Oncology, prior to joining the Radiation Oncology Specialists in 2014. She is committed to providing the highest level of care to her patients and their families and is constantly evaluating new radiation trials, techniques and technologies in the pursuit of delivering the most effective cancer treatment options for breast cancer.
