Vickaryous, Brian Keith, MD

  • Brian Vickaryous, MD is a nationally recognized orthopedic surgeon who has unique experience in sports medicine and rehabilitation of the athlete, total joint reconstruction, and complex orthopedic trauma. Dr. Vickaryous was raised in Naples and returned to his home state of Florida in 2008 after serving 12 years in the United States Army as an orthopedic surgeon. There he obtained the unique experience as a sports medicine and trauma expert treating soldiers and Special Forces both stateside and in Iraq. Since arriving home, he has served the people of central Florida developing and refining new and innovative techniques that are at the forefront of minimally invasive surgery. He has served as a Sports Medicine Specialist for the Apopka Blue Darters and the Orthopedic Surgeon for the Champs and Russell Athletic Bowls. Dr. Vickaryous earned his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Miami in Florida in an advanced seven-year program. He completed his Orthopedic Surgical Residency at William Beaumont/Texas Tech Medical Center. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has the additional distinction of subspecialty certification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Vickaryous is recognized as a subject matter expert in minimally invasive techniques whether performed arthroscopically for multiple joints including the hip, knee, and shoulder, for his knowledge and skill in advanced methods for complex trauma care, and advancing the knowledge and use of the MAKO Robotic Surgery System for the most accurate and consistently reproducible placement of knee and hip replacements. His accomplishments include numerous publications in worldwide orthopedic journals, presentations at national meetings, and the development and teaching of an orthopedic trauma course to deploying combat surgeons in the recent conflicts.
