As an interventional cardiologist with AdventHealth Medical Group Cardiology & Cardiovascular Surgery, Dr. Ammar Habib is an expert in various advanced coronary and peripheral vascular interventions. He also specializes in structural heart interventions, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). With a lower mortality rate and shorter hospital stay than open heart surgery, TAVR is an innovative, specialized procedure which Dr. Habib and cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Casey Hertzenberg have been performing at AdventHealth since 2018.
Dr. Habib is Board-certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, internal medicine and vascular ultrasound interpretation (RPVI). He earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and completed his internal medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He then completed a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the University of Kansas Medical Center and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Brown University in Providence, RI.
Dr. Habib is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI). He sees patients at both the Shawnee Mission and Lansing offices of AdventHealth Medical Group Cardiology & Cardiovascular Surgery.
